Matunuck Atelier Restaurant

South Kingstown, RI ~8,000 sq. ft.

  • Anchored in Place. Inspired by People. The project grew from our client’s vision to create a shared destination for dining and gathering. Its aesthetic centers on an upscale restaurant designed to feel both distinctive and deeply connected to the client’s broader brand ecosystem, from farms and hatchery to hospitality.

The architecture sets a refined yet welcoming tone, crafting a sense of arrival that mirrors the care and artistry of the culinary program. Form, scale, and proportion work together to create a presence that feels grounded in its setting while distinctly sophisticated.

Inside, the interiors balance warmth and energy through a cohesive material palette and thoughtfully choreographed circulation. Guests are guided seamlessly from entry to dining areas and bars, with each transition designed to feel natural and immersive. Layered textures, tailored lighting, and tactile feel of surfaces and arches contribute to the flow and comfort, fostering moments of connection between people and place.

Every element of the architecture, interior, and brand design – from the logo on the building to the mosaic tiles underfoot, from the carefully chosen paint colors to the menus guests hold and even the subtle color of the flatware – was developed holistically to support a singular, immersive experience. The result? A destination that celebrates the craft of its cuisine, the character of its setting, and the community it was created to serve.
