Designing for Flow & Everyday Utility 

Our main objective was to eliminate awkward sightlines and create a natural progression between rooms while preserving the home’s warm, inviting character. GDS developed comprehensive architectural floor plans, framing details, and interior design specifications that balanced open-concept gathering spaces with quiet, functional zones.

Our design strategy focused on a four key areas:

• Connected Living Spaces: We re-engineered the core living areas to open up transitions between the kitchen, dining, and main gathering rooms. By specifying targeted structural beam locations, we removed unnecessary load-bearing barriers to maximize natural light and movement.

• 4-Bedroom Mirrored Upper Layout: To optimize lot orientation, driveway access, and natural light exposure, we adapted the second floor into a 4-bedroom mirrored plan – balancing a spacious primary suite with three additional bedrooms and dedicated bath access.

• Tailored Interior Detailing: Moving beyond the structural shell, our interior design scope covered custom cabinetry elevations, lighting placement, tile patterns, and finish schedules. Every selection was chosen to create a clean, cohesive aesthetic throughout the entire home.

• Precision Documentation & Code Compliance: We produced full permit and construction documentation – including energy-efficient specs, building envelope details, and code-compliant structural framing notes – ensuring a smooth, straightforward construction phase for the builder.

The result is a beautifully proportioned residence where thoughtful architectural planning and refined interior design come together to elevate everyday living.
